LI Heat Advisory Issued Friday, For Third Consecutive Day: NWS

The heat value index values will continue to feel like from 95 to 100 degrees on Long Island, the service said.

LONG ISLAND, NY — A heat advisory is issued for the third day in a row on Friday for Long Island, the National Weather Service said.

While temperatures will reach a high of 85 degrees, the heat value index will feel like from 95 to 100 degrees, the service said.

The advisory is in effect until 6 p.m.

The air quality is also in the "moderate" levels of 55, and may be unhealthy for sensitive groups, according to AirNow.

AccuWeather recommends reducing time spent outside if you are feeling symptoms such as difficulty breathing or throat irritation.
