Guadron, Lentz-Kuhn Win Islip Town Council Races

Unofficial results are in for Islip's 2025 elections, with both parties claiming victories across town and county races.

ISLIP, NY — Voters in Islip split their ballots Tuesday, re-electing one Republican and one Democrat to the Town Council, according to unofficial results from the Suffolk County Board of Elections.

Town Council Races

1st District:
Jorge C. Guadron (D, WF) was re-elected with a commanding 74.9 percent (3,473 votes) over Manny Troche (R, C) with 25.1 percent (1,165 votes). Guadron, a community advocate and small business owner, ran on a platform focused on inclusion and economic opportunity.

2nd District:
DawnMarie D. Lentz-Kuhn (R, C) won election to the Town Council with 58.5 percent (8,137 votes), defeating David Chan (D), who received 41.4 percent (5,758 votes). Lentz-Kuhn emphasized infrastructure, public safety, and fiscal management throughout her campaign.

County Legislature

Republicans held their edge in both of Islip’s legislative districts.

District 4: Nicholas J. Caracappa (R, C) re-elected with 55.8 percent (4,732 votes) to Nancy Silverio (D) with 44.1 percent (3,744 votes).

District 6: Chad H. Lennon (R, C) secured another term, earning 56.5 percent (7,660 votes) to Kevin B. O’Shaughnessy (D) with 43.5 percent (5,889 votes).

Town Trends

The mixed results continue Islip’s tradition of divided representation, with Democrats maintaining influence on the western side of town while Republicans remain dominant in central and eastern districts.

What’s Next

All results are unofficial until certified by the Suffolk County Board of Elections after absentee and affidavit ballots are counted.
