Protest Planned At Islip Town Hall Saturday Over Town’s ICE Contract, Group Says
Islip Forward says Saturday's event comes as the group tracks rising ICE activity across the township.
ISLIP, NY — Community advocates will gather outside Islip Town Hall on Saturday afternoon for a rally calling on the town to end its training agreement with the Department of Homeland Security, organizers said.
The demonstration, led by the advocacy organization Islip Forward, comes as the group reports a sharp rise in ICE activity on Long Island. According to Islip Forward, more than 270 ICE sightings have been documented in 2025, and November is on track to be the busiest month of the year.
Organizers said the Town of Islip’s active contract with Homeland Security allows ICE to conduct training for future deportation operations inside the community, a practice the group argues should end.

The rally is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Islip Town Hall, 655 Main St., with Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado expected to speak. Islip Forward said it also expects the Town Supervisor and several Town Board members to be present, making the event a key moment for transparency.
The group created the Long Island ICE Tracker, a tool used by thousands of residents to report and monitor federal immigration activity.
