LONG ISLAND, NY — Long Island is gearing up for another mainly sunny week, after a rainy start.

Showers, with possible thunderstorms, are expected all throughout Monday, with a 100 percent chance of precipitation. The rainfall will continue into Monday night, with winds of up to 10 mph.

Tuesday will show sunny skies again, with a high of near 75 degrees. The dry weather will continue throughout Friday, with an average of 75 degrees.

Monday: Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2 p.m. Steady temperature around 68. East wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Monday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 58. West wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 75. West wind 11 to 13 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 57. Northwest wind 7 to 9 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 74. Northwest wind around 8 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 58.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 75.
