LONG ISLAND, NY — Veterans Day weekend will be dry and sunny — but not before a little rain.

Showers are predicted for Thursday afternoon between 1 and 4 p.m. With a high near 61 degrees, it will be the warmest day in the five-day forecast.

Temperatures will begin to drop on Friday, with a high of 55 degrees.
