Elmhurst Fire Forces Hundreds From Homes, FDNY Says
The massive blaze broke out late Sunday.

ELMHURST, QUEENS – A massive fire in Elmhurst forced 300 people to evacuate their apartments late Sunday, the FDNY said. The blaze left six firefighters with minor injuries.
It broke out around 11:22 p.m. near the roof of a six-story building at 41st Avenue and Elmhurst, between 80th and 81st Streets, officials said. Residents in the whole building were forced to leave.
The cause of the fire was not known by Monday morning.
