Fire In Elmhurst Home Leaves Several Hurt: Officials

The fire broke out in a home on Case Street.

ELMHURST, NY – A huge fire in an Elmhurst home left two civilians and several firefighters hurt Friday, officials said.

The blaze broke out in a home on Case Street, near Elmhurst Avenue, around 5 a.m., according to the FDNY. One civilian suffered critical injuries. At least seven firefighters were also hurt.

The city's Office Of Emergency Management told people nearby to close their windows as thick smoke filled the area.
