JACKSON HEIGHTS, QUEENS -- An 8-year-old girl was hurt by a piece of wood that fell from a Jackson Heights construction site and on Friday morning, authorities said.
A construction worker working on the building at 83-09 35th Ave. accidentally dropped the plank onto the little girl as she was walking past the site at around 9:30 a.m., police told Patch.
The plank sliced the girl's head, but she was conscious and alert when she was sent to Weill Cornell Medical Center for stitches, an NYPD spokesman said.
