Man Fatally Struck By MTA Bus in Queens: Report
No charges have been filed against the MTA bus driver, multiple news outlets report.
JACKSON HEIGHTS, QUEENS — A man was fatally struck by an MTA bus Tuesday night, first responders and multiple news outlets confirmed.
Authorities told the New York Post that shortly after 7 p.m., Nazmul Ahsan, 63, was crossing Broadway near Roosevelt Avenue in Jackson Heights when an MTA bus heading west on Broadway struck him.
The westbound bus had the right of way when Ahsan entered the crosswalk and was knocked to the ground by the front bumper of the bus, police confirmed to the New York Daily News.

He was rushed by medics to Elmhurst Hospital with traumatic head injuries where he was pronounced dead.
“He was a family man through and through,” his son, Nazimul Ahsan, 31, told the newspaper. “He immigrated here like 10 years ago. He came here for his two sons, for our better future basically.”

No charges have been filed against the bus driver.
