JACKSON HEIGHTS, QUEENS - Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is soliciting mural designs for her soon-to-open district office in Jackson Heights, Queens.

Entries should "celebrate the diversity and beautify of NY14," reads a Facebook post about the contest. New York's 14th congressional district includes northern Queens and the eastern Bronx.

Ocasio-Cortez plans to open her district office on March 4, according to the Jackson Heights Post.

The opening of Ocasio-Cortez's district office was stalled by a landlord who wanted to double the rent at her predecessor's office location, she said on social media in January. The congresswoman instead leased a location at 74-09 37th Ave. in Jackson Heights. Some staff members have been working from State Sen. Alessandra Biaggi's Bronx office, according to The New York Times.

Artists can submit their original sketches to ny14mural@mail.house.gov for a chance to see their design painted on a 12 x 7-foot wall in the district office.
