Queens Mall's Firehouse Subs Closes After Just 3 Months
The popular sandwich chain made its mall debut on Halloween 2018.

ELMHURST, QUEENS – Popular sandwich chain Firehouse Subs has permanently closed its location in Queens Center Mall just three months after opening. The sandwich shop opened in the mall's food court on Oct. 31, 2018 and was the chain's only New York City location.
"The Firehouse Subs in the Queens Mall has closed as the operator has chosen to explore other business ventures. We are sorry for any inconvenience this has created for our guests," a spokesman for the chain said in a statement.
The mall location was a franchise owned by Syed Alam, according to a QNS.com report about its opening. “You always hear about the American dream, but I’m living it,” Alam told QNS.com. “I was looking for an opportunity to get out of taxi driving and really make an impact in the community."
