Ruff Break: Dog Food Delivery Truck Loses Top On Queens Boulevard
Westbound traffic on Queens Boulevard was shut down Monday morning after a truck full of dog food hit an overpass and tore its roof off.

ELMHURST, QUEENS — Westbound traffic on Queens Boulevard was shut down Monday morning after a truck full of dog food hit an overpass by 59th Avenue and tore its roof off, according to the state transportation department and a witness.
All lanes were blocked as of 10:30 a.m. Monday after a tractor-trailer exceeding the boulevard's height limit struck the Woodhaven Boulevard overpass in Elmhurst, according to a state traffic alert.
The collision happened about 9 a.m., according to Citizen. The boulevard was all clear by noon, a 511 New York update shows.

A witness to the accident said the truck was carrying bags of dog food, according to video posted to the Citizen app.
"That's the one that my dog eats, salmon and potatoes," the man says in the video. "I could get up there."
