Man Shot In Attempted Robbery Of His Jamaica Home: NYPD

The man was shot in the leg after three men tried to invade his home in Jamaica, police say.

JAMAICA, QUEENS -- The NYPD is looking for three men in connection with a botched robbery that left one man with a bullet in his leg, police told Patch.

The 50-year-old man and his 12-year-old son were at their Jamaica home on 197 Street on Sunday, Nov. 19, when one of the suspects, holding a package, rang the doorbell at around 2:40 p.m., police said. When the son opened the front door, the suspect told him he had a package and attempted to charge inside the home as his father approached the door, an NYPD spokesman said.

The man instead pushed the suspect out of his home and onto the sidewalk, where two more men were hiding behind a fence. The suspect and one of the other men in hiding both pulled out firearms and shot at the man, who was struck once in his thigh, police said.
