Queens Man Arrested For 2 Jamaica Murders: NYPD

Neville Brown, wanted for two fatal shootings less than a month apart, was arrested more than 75 miles outside the city in Dutchess County.

JAMAICA, QUEENS -- A Queens man wanted for two Jamaica murders less than a month apart was arrested across the state in Dutchess County, police said Tuesday.

Neville Brown, 37, faces murder charges for the killings on Dec. 19 and Jan. 16, in which two Jamaica men were found riddled with bullets, said NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce.

Dail Ramessar, 21, was killed at around 3 a.m. on Dec. 19 after being shot in the chest four times while sitting in a car outside his neighbor's house on 125th Street. Omaree Morrison, 19, was found sprawled out on the street outside his home on 109 Avenue with bullets to his neck, shoulder and torso. The shootings are believed to be drug-related, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.

Brown and another suspect were wanted for both homicides, Boyce said.

"The case is not over," he said. "We're looking for someone else in New York who's involved."

Investigators linked the two murders to Brown through ballistic evidence from the guns and license plate readers that matched him to the getaway car, Boyce said.

Police put out a statewide "Be On the Lookout" alert on Brown's car and a state trooper pulled him over upstate in Fishkill, more than 75 miles from where the murders occurred.

"They held him for us and he immediately requested an attorney," Boyce said.

Brown was arrested on two charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police said. He has 21 prior arrests.
