Robber Wearing Surgical Mask Targets Banks Across NYC

The man has held up banks in Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island, police said.

JAMAICA, QUEENS – A robber in a bucket hat and a surgical mask walked into a Queens bank and demanded money in one of a string of hold-ups that have happened across the city, police said.

The man handed a note to a teller in the Queens County Saving Bank, at 247-53 Jamaica Avenue in Floral Park, at 2.45 p.m. on September 10. He was given an unknown amount of money and ran west on Jamaica Avenue.

The same person is suspected of holding up banks in Brooklyn and on Staten Island in the last few weeks, each time wearing a surgical mask or a huge hat to cover his face.

Police said he entered the TD Bank at 9904 Fourth Avenue, in Bay Ridge, on August 5 and again got cash by handing a note to a teller. And, on September 6, he robbed the M&T Bank on Hylan Boulevard using the same technique.
