Teen Boy Shot Dead In Jamaica: NYPD

The 19-year-old was found dead roughly a half-mile from his home, riddled with bullets to his neck and chest, police say.

JAMAICA, QUEENS -- A 19-year-old boy was shot dead roughly a half mile from his home in Jamaica on Tuesday night, police said.

Omaree Morrison had been shot several times in the neck and chest by the time cops found him on 135th Street near 105th Avenue at around 9:30 p.m., police said.

Medics rushed Morrison to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The shooting happened just over a mile away from Morrison's home on 109th Ave between Pinegrove and Inwood streets, police said. A motive behind the shooting, as well as the events leading up to it, are unclear, an NYPD spokeswoman said. The investigation is ongoing.
