Two Men Connected To String Of Armed Robberies In Jamaica: Police
Police suspect two men are behind four armed robberies that happened within the last month in Jamaica.

JAMAICA, QUEENS -- The NYPD is looking for two men they suspect are behind a string of armed robberies across Jamaica, police told Patch.
The two men are suspected to have robbed at least four places at gunpoint on Tuesdays over three consecutive weeks - including two gas stations, a laundromat and a grocery store, police said. Officers don't know how much cash was stolen at each place, but said nobody was injured in the robberies.
The string of robberies started at around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24, in a gas station at 108-46 Merrick Boulevard. Police said one of the men revealed a gold firearm upon entering the gas station and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk gave him an unknown amount of cash before the suspect fled in an unknown direction. Police don't know which of the two men committed the first robbery, but said the suspect's description matched both men connected with the following three robberies.

The next incident came a week later at around 1:37 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31, at the Key Laundromat less than three miles away at 99-09 Jamaica Ave. This time, one man demanded money and the clerk's cellphone while a second man stood on lookout with a silver firearm in hand, police said. Both men fled with the cash down Jamaica Avenue.
Police said the two men struck again one week later on Tuesday, Nov. 7 - this time twice before the day's end. Their first stop at around 12:50 a.m. was a gas station at 202-06 Hillside Ave. Similarly to the previous robbery, one man yielded a silver revolver, jumped over the counter and bagged an unknown amount of cash, while the second man kept lookout, police said. Both suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.

In a second robbery that evening at around 6:40 p.m., the two men targeted a grocery store just minutes down the road at 198-37 Jamaica Ave. One man held out a silver revolver while taking the cash, before the two fled north up 199th Street from Jamaica Avenue, police said.
Police described both suspects as men around 20 years old. One suspect was last seen wearing a black hoodie under a black and dark green jacket, black pants, brown boots and carrying a black backpack. The second suspect was last seen wearing a light grey hoodie, black pants, white and black sneakers and also carrying a black backpack.
The NYPD has released surveillance photos of the two men that surfaced after the fourth incident. Police said they have yet to find evidence specifically linking the string of robberies to Tuesdays, but the investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
