CMFNY Embraces High School Student's Unique Fundraising Campaign
Brookville Resident Helps Young Patients at Cohen Children's Medical Center
The Children’s Medical Fund of New York (CMFNY) announced that Alex Boyarski, a Junior at Jericho High School has launched the “Gift of Music” fundraiser to help raise money towards the purchase of new musical instruments for use at the Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park, NY.
Boyarski, a Brookville native and music enthusiast, conceived his idea six months ago while thinking what he can do to give back during the holiday season. Alex combined his two passions for philanthropic work and music to create this most recent endeavor.
Whether it be modeling at the Lester’s fashion show, participating in the annual golf tournament, or organizing his own Toy Drive, Boyarski has been an active volunteer for the Children’s Medical Fund since very early childhood.

“We are always looking for creative ways to raise money that ultimately brings smiles to children’s faces,” said Gina Segreti, Executive Director, Children’s Medical Fund. “When Alex approached us we didn’t even think twice and were so happy to support him in his newest efforts in raising money for such a worthy cause.”
Segreti added, “It is so great to see when support for our mission runs through generations of families as exemplified by the Boyarskis.”

“I am so excited to continue my fundraising efforts for the Children’s Medical Fund with the “Gift of Music” campaign,” said Boyarski. It was only natural for me to combine my love of music and the desire to help others by embarking on the “Gift of Music” campaign.
CMF and Alex plan on delivering the instruments to the hospital in February.
