MTA Cancels Planned Cuts To Q46, Q44 Bus Service
The MTA nixed plans to cut service on two bus lines that run in Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Flushing, Jamaica and Glen Oaks.

KEW GARDENS, QUEENS — The MTA will nix planned service cuts to two Queens bus lines, thanks to an agreement with Assemblywoman Nily Rozic.
The transit authority will restore service to the Q46 bus and cancel its plan to cut service on the Q44 SBS line following pushback from Rozic, according to QNS.
Commuters complained to Rozic about service delays and long wait times after the MTA in January cut service on the Q46 line, which runs along Union Turnpike from Glen Oaks to Forest Hills.

The Q44 Select Bus Service, which goes from the Bronx to Jamaica, was due for similar cuts before Rozic intervened, according to QNS.
Funding for the restored service will come from the state legislature's Outer Borough Transit Fund, launched in 2018 to help New Yorkers living in areas with limited public transit options.

"I am thankful that the MTA and NYCT listened to the concerns of the eastern Queens bus riders and restored Q46 and Q44 service — outer borough transit riders must not be neglected," Rozic said.
"These service investments will give riders more options to get where they need to go, more options during rush hour, and more reason to use subways and commuter trains instead."
