“What a night it was!" Wehrheim stated. "Nathan Dean and The Damn Band gave an incredible live performance, unlike anything we’ve ever seen. I want to thank Donnie Brown and David Capo, who brought this idea to us, our partners; Relish Kings Park, and two venues opening soon, the Inlet and Gusto’s of Hauppauge for sponsoring the event. Also, a special thanks to our Parks Department and the Department of Public Safety who worked tirelessly for two weeks straight to ensure a seamless event. This vision began as a way to give back to our incredible community… a way to say Thank You to the wonderful people of Smithtown… However, I believe the success of this concert will likely make this a new tradition here in Smithtown.”
Local families packed the parking lot with tailgate-style picnic setups, while boaters set up across the Nissequogue River, towards Short Beach to enjoy the live performance. The show was emceed by David Capo who introduced middle-school vocalist Kieran Brown to sing the National Anthem.
