Kings Park Resident Wins Scholarship

Barnes & Noble Honors Farmingdale State College Student

Kings Park resident Nikola Georgiev, a dual major computer engineering and electrical engineering technology student at Farmingdale State College, has been awarded a scholarship by Barnes & Noble.

Georgiev was honored at the 2016 Long Island Business Hall of Fame Gala sponsored by the Farmingdale College Foundation.

Georgiev, a regular on Farmingdale’s President’s List for his academic achievements, was named one of the top five freshman of the incoming class of 2014. He is currently working on two research projects: the creation of a house to be powered by green energy, with an emphasis on making the lives of the elderly and disabled easier; and the development of controllers for conventional technology such as traffic lights, vending machines and thermometers.
