Landing Avenue Bridge Closure Brings Road Detours

Officials are asking residents to use Rose Street and Oakside Road as alternate routes when the Landing Avenue Bridge closes for repairs on July 24.

The bridge, built in 1928, will be closed for about three weeks as repairs are made to address cracking concrete.

The suggested detour route, according to Gilbert Anderson of the Department of Public Works, will be Edgewood Avenue to Route 25A, then take either Oakside Road or Rose Street to return to Landing Avenue.

Officials said the entire project should take about three months at a cost of $80,000.
