HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Everybody thinks they are an expert at navigating corn mazes until they find themselves at their wit's end and headed down a dead end path, but no need for breadcrumbs — practice makes perfect.

This comprehensive rundown will help you find your way to the Hudson Valley's most challenging corn mazes — finding your way out is up to you. Good luck! Hours can vary as the days grow shorter and reservations aren't often required, but are sometimes, so make sure to call ahead before heading out to the farmlands.

WESTCHESTER

ORANGE

  • Manza Family Farm: Okay, so it's technically a straw maze, but hay, it still sounds like fun. 730 State Rte 211, Montgomery 845-692-4364

DUTCHESS

  • Barton Orchards: This is a working farm and much like co-workers, the five-acre corn maze only really comes alive on weekends. 63 Apple Tree Lane, Poughquag 845-227-2306
  • Fishkill Farms: This three-acre corn maze benefits charity. This year’s corn maze honors Lucinda Franks Morgenthau. Lucinda was a novelist and Pulitzer-prize winning journalist – as well as the wife of late farm owner Robert Morgenthau and mother of present-day owner Josh Morgenthau. Ulster

  • DuBois Farms: This two-acre corn maze is just right for a perfect autumn getaway. 209 Perkinsville Road Highland 845-795-4037
  • Hurds Family Farm: This year's corn maze will be in the shape of a scarecrow. The maze can be reserved privately for large groups on Wednesdays and Thursdays. 2187 State Route 32, Modena 845-883-7825
