MAMARONECK, NY — A chance to get intimately acquainted with the remarkable wines of the Pacific Northwest while sipping vintages from one of North America's most dynamic wine regions is here, but the night sounds like too much fun to count as a leaning experience.
Augustine's Salumeria, at 213 Halstead Avenue in Mamaroneck, announced that they will be holding a special six-course wine dinner hosted by André Hueston Mack, the renowned sommelier and innovative winemaker. The exclusive event, a celebration of Maison Noir Wines from Willamette Valley, Oregon, will take place on Tuesday, October 21, at 6:45 p.m., in the restaurant's storied gallery.
Guests will have the rare chance to engage directly with Mack as he guides them through a carefully curated menu featuring his Maison Noir Wines. Chef Marc Taxiera has created a six-course tasting menu (see below) designed to complement each wine, for "a night of exceptional pairings."

More About André Hueston Mack, From Augustine's Salumeria
A luminary in the wine world, André Hueston Mack was awarded the prestigious title of Best Young Sommelier in America by the highly regarded Chaine des Rotisseurs. This recognition launched his career as a sommelier at Thomas Keller's world-renowned The French Laundry in California, followed by a move to New York City to become the Head Sommelier at Keller's equally acclaimed Per Se. There, he managed a 1500-selection, award-winning wine list and consulted regularly with Chef Keller on menu and pairing development.
His lifelong dream of winemaking came to fruition in 2007 with the founding of Mouton Noir Wines, now Maison Noir Wines. Mack has since forged special relationships with star growers in Oregon, and it is with this group that he is currently making his most exciting wines, which are now served at top restaurants across the United States. His mission to make wine more accessible is also evident in his work as the host of Bon Appétit’s "World of Wine" and the author of "99 Bottles: A Black Sheep’s Guide to Life-Changing Wines." Mack’s accolades include The Network Journal's 40-Under-Forty Achievement Award, and he has been featured in major publications like Food and Wine, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.
