Avoid Harbor Heights Area Of Mamaroneck: Police

A large branch fell on electrical wires on Mamaroneck Ave, causing a fire. There is a large police and FD presence on site, officials say.

MAMARONECK, NY — Mother Nature is causing some excitement in a busy area of the village.

The Village of Mamaroneck Police Department sent out an alert Saturday evening, a little after 5:30 p.m., asking people to avoid the Harbor Heights section of Mamaroneck, specifically Mamaroneck Ave. and Beechwood Ave. A large tree branch fell down on electrical wires on Mamaroneck Ave., causing them to catch on fire. Con Edison and the Village of Mamaroneck Fire Department are on the scene. Southbound traffic on Mamaroneck Ave. is shut down.

Electrical power was turned off to multiple homes in the area. There is still no time frame for when Con Edison will turn the power back on.
