LARCHMONT, NY — A well-known restaurant in Larchmont, Company Chophouse & Grill, is closing its doors after nearly a year in business.

The restaurant, located at 7 Madison Ave. in Larchmont, announced on social media Wednesday morning that they will be closing their doors for good on Jan. 15, and would only be open for dinner until Saturday, Jan. 14.

"Over the course of this last year, we have had the privilege to work with, meet and serve great customers, people, and friends," the owners said on Facebook. "Our staff turned into family, and our customers turned into friends. It is with great sadness that we announce the difficult decision to close the doors of Company on January 15, 2023. With the rise of costs, it has been difficult to sustain our small business. We are honored to have had the chance to have you all as part of our story. Thank you for being our company the last 11 months. Please note all gift cards will be honored at The Wooden Spoon, 16 Division Street, in New Rochelle, NY. With gratitude, the Battista, Newhook, + Triscari families"

The family-owned restaurant was known for its cult favorite "Company Chips," kettle chips topped with wagyu brisket, roasted onions, a secret blend of house spices and blue cheese.

Other customer favorites that made the Company Chophouse & Grill a popular destination on the Sound Shore included the seasonal cheese board, the local crispy goat cheese with hot honey and pistachios and a selection of delights from the grill, like the "veal chop parm" and the bone-in 16 oz. pork chop.

Despite the restaurant's popularity, the business will not survive, which is an especially heartbreaking situation given the early obstacles the Company Chophouse overcame.

"Well we’ve nearly survived one week of service & to say we are still in shock is an understatement," the owners posted shortly after the restaurant first opened in February of 2022. "So here’s our Ted talk….we saw this space just about a year ago…lease was signed 3.17.21. Thought it was a sign of our luck to come. Little did we know. After surviving endless COVID related delays, we thought we’d be in the clear- scheduled the health inspection for the week leading up to labor day (why not pass, have a weekend on the beach and gear up to open in September, right?) Que the once in a zillion year storm like Ida...She had other plans for us & landed us in 4 ft. of water. Fast forward to doing everything needed, to be sidetracked with permit requests & the not so usual red tape issues."

An outpouring of support and appreciation from fans of the restaurant appeared on the restaurant's social media page shortly after the announcement.
