Currently Trustee/Deputy Mayor (appointed)

Why are you seeking this office?

To prepare the Village for changes related to climate change and help it manage growth.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

A fresh approach. My major opponent is a former Mayor who presided over a reduction in flood mitigation activity while in office, while encouraging development in the flood plain that worsened the problem.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

Alternative Revenue Sources, Municipal Electric Generation (solar arrays), Synchronizing village elections with the bi-annual federal schedule, a new Village Hall complex and police department, affordable housing outside the flood plain.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

My performance as Trustee/Deputy Mayor since being appointed in January.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

When confronted with a crisis, look for the opportunity it might present.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

During 43 years of journalism I have witnessed many stories as they began AND as they eventually ended, sometimes many years later. My contact with Mamaroneck began 30 years ago covering floods. The solutions were discussed but never acted upon and when I witnessed the result I decided to get involved in a more direct fashion.
