Dispute Between Coworkers Ends With Stabbing On Mamaroneck Avenue

VILLAGE OF MAMARONECK, NY — A stabbing in Mamaroneck appears to have stemmed from a dispute between coworkers, according to police.

The Village of Mamaroneck Police Department says that on Tuesday morning, shortly before 8:30 a.m., officers responded to a report that a man had been stabbed in the abdomen in the 600 block of Mamaroneck Ave.

Village of Mamaroneck detectives, Town of Mamaroneck police, and MTA police, also responded to the scene where a 52-year-old man, a White Plains resident, was found with a stab wound. Officers assisted the man and called for an ambulance.

While canvassing the area, police located a suspect matching the description the stab victim had given. The suspect was later positively identified as the perpetrator, according to police.

An investigation found that the victim and the perpetrator are known to each other and are coworkers. Police say that the two men had a verbal dispute which then turned physical.

33-year-old Gener O. Perez-Ramirez, of Mamaroneck, was arrested and charged with second degree assault, and misdemeanor fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned in Village of Mamaroneck Court and was taken to the Westchester County Department of Corrections.
