Drunken Driver Hit Parked Car, Sending It Careening Into Home: Police
The Mamaroneck woman was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, according to police.

VILLAGE OF MAMARONECK, NY — The mystery of a late night crash, in which an unoccupied car slammed into a Mamaroneck house, was soon solved, and resulted in an arrest, according to Village of Mamaroneck police.
The Village of Mamaroneck Police Department says that on Tuesday, shortly before 11 p.m., they received several reports of a motor vehicle accident in the area of Palmer Ave. and Maple Ave.
Once officers arrived on the scene, they saw a vehicle partly buried in the first floor of a home in the 300 block of Mt. Pleasant Ave. Police say that the vehicle engine was off and did not appear to have been in operation.

Police canvassed the area and found witnesses who told them that the initial accident had taken place in the 300 block of Palmer Ave. As officers continued their search, they found the primary scene and identified the driver of the vehicle causing the crash.
Investigators say that the driver, a 22-year-old Village of Mamaroneck resident, was traveling east on Palmer Ave, when she struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle, causing it to careen into the home on Mount Pleasant Ave.

EMS responded and evaluated the driver, who refused further medical attention. Police did not report any other serious injuries.
After further investigation, the driver was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
She was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, misdemeanor aggravated driving while intoxicated, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a violation.
The driver was released pending a future court date.
