The January Joint Meeting (JJM) took place at the Hyatt Regency in Rochester, New York on January 26th, 27th and 28th. This meeting was extremely efficient in preparing for the events which will unfold at the 2024 State Leadership Conference in April. The State Officers met and worked to achieve the necessary duties to guarantee SLC runs smoothly. They worked to finalize 115 goose chase challenges, a fun and traditional SLC scavenger hunt. Additionally, the officers chose an up to date plaque, constructed ribbons and thoroughly planned workshops which FBLA members will significantly ameliorate their comprehension of the business world and further extend their knowledge of essential skills. Discussed in these workshops include the topics of the college application process, the steps to becoming an elected State Officer, and how to strengthen your resume. Not only were educational opportunities organized, fun events were crafted such as the disco themed dance. Furthermore, the beloved FBLA talent show will continue to run at this year’s conference. Overall, JJM was an utmost success and set the foundation for SLC, ensuring it is a conference consisting of a surplus of occasions to enhance individuals’ life and business skills while also being a source of enjoyment.
