Fire-Caused Power Outage Affecting All Of Larchmont: Village Officials

Traffic lights at all intersections are out; some residents may have brown water coming out of their faucets.

LARCHMONT, NY — Larchmont is currently experiencing a village-wide power outage due to a reported vehicle fire resulting from a downed wire, officials announced.

Traffic lights along all intersections of Boston Post Road and parts of Palmer Avenue are out. The Police Department is conducting traffic control while the Department of Public Works installs generators to restore temporary power until Con Edison completes repairs.

Please proceed with caution at all intersections as emergency crews work to maintain public safety.

Also, residents in the Larchmont Manor neighborhood may experience brown water coming into their sinks and faucets for the next few hours as part of a response to the fire. If you see brown water, run the faucet for a few minutes until the water clears up, officials said.

To report any other power outage issues, please call Con Edison at 1-800-75-CON-ED (1-800-752-6633). Officials ask request that residents refrain from contacting Village Police and Fire emergency services unless it is a true emergency.
