LARCHMONT, NY — There are few opportunities to learn from a true master. Whether it's Luke and Yoda, Rocky Balboa and Mickey Goldmill, or Mr. Miyagi and the Karate Kid, seizing those opportunities could make all the difference in the world.

The award-winning baker and food educator, who made national headlines last year after baking the cake for the Commanders re-branding announcement, will soon be sharing his knowledge with up to 6 students lucky enough to get spots in his upcoming class at his Larchmont bakery.

Seth Greenberg tells Patch that he will be instructing students in a series of three baking classes, encouraging them to bake at home between classes and bring in their best efforts for evaluation.

Whoa, slow down there padawan. You must learn to walk before you can roll, but one day have your cake and eat it too you will. Only then the city will be yours. (Seth Greenberg's Just Desserts)

Greenberg grew up at the iconic bakery founded by his father, William Greenberg Jr. Desserts, known to many New Yorkers for decades as the go-to place for schnecken (cinnamon rolls), classic cookies, brownies, and birthday cakes.

After working with his father for 25 years, buying the family business, and eventually selling it, he realized one day while sitting in a finance office, "Who am I kidding? I'm a baker."

Greenberg has been featured in The New York Times, The Daily News, and the American Craft Museum. His "icing on the cake" highlights include baking President Bill Clinton's 50th birthday cake, assembled live on the Today Show, and baking schnecken with fellow Westchester resident Martha Stewart live on the air.
