By partnering directly with the local community, the series enables local children to learn from the people and places they encounter every day. LMC's collaboration with local performing arts organizations, including Artistree and Sandbox Theatre, played a vital role in promoting the casting call and engaging young talent from the community. Two of the lead voice actors, Leo and Grace, were cast through Artistree, while Tatum joined the show from Sandbox Theatre.

Local Girl Scouts, after a little time getting familiar with working with puppets, also took part in segments of the new show. For many of the young performers, this project marked one of their first experiences in front of the camera.
"Their enthusiasm and dedication highlight the value of creating meaningful artistic opportunities for youth and underscore the strength of community partnerships in nurturing local talent," LMC said of the the cast that helped make the inaugural series such an overwhelming successs. "Season 1 also includes participation from Larchmont-Mamaroneck Emergency Services, the Westchester Bee Line Bus System, Rye YMCA Nursery School at St. John's in Mamaroneck, Bradley's Bakery, Orange Bank, Harbor Island, and many other local locations and small businesses."
Each episode of LMC Kids is hosted by a cast of lovable puppet characters who introduce important life lessons and local adventures. Through catchy original songs, animations, and real-life video segments featuring community members, kids learn about kindness, sharing, safety, creativity, and the everyday heroes who help make our communities so very special.
