Man Killed By Metro-North Train ID'd As 59-Year-Old From Mamaroneck

MAMARONECK, NY — A death at the Port Chester train station is being felt 6 miles down the train tracks in Westchester County as the victim is identified as a Mamaroneck man.

The 59-year-old was killed early Wednesday morning after he was hit by a Stamford-bound train at the Port Chester train station, an MTA spokesperson told Patch..

The man, identified as Gabriel Rocael Barrios, was hit by a train while trespassing on the tracks at approximately 2 a.m.

According to the MTA, the New Haven Line was temporarily delayed while EMS, MTA police and Metro-North Railroad employees investigated the incident, which took place on Track 3.

The incident resulted in an approximately 30-minute delay, with around 20 passengers safely transferred to another in-service train at 2:47 a.m., MTA officials said.
