NYS Senate District 37 Election Results 2022: Mayer Defeats Murtha
Campaigning has come to an end and voters have had their say in a historic election that could determine the balance of power in Albany.

NEW YORK — The polls have closed and we now know who will represent New York's 37th State Senate District and perhaps shift control of the legislative agenda in Albany.
Several media outlets have projected incumbent Shelley Mayer as the winner of her race to keep her seat.
With 263 of 292 precincts reporting, Shelley B. Mayer, with 44,230 votes, has defeated challenger Frank F. Murtha with 33,164 votes, according to unofficial election results.

The growing popularity of early voting added a sense of urgency to the waning days of the race. In an election season that saw district lines re-drawn, and re-drawn again in the Hudson Valley, voters got to know new candidates and a few familiar faces, and in some cases, former allies turned rivals, surviving hard-fought primary races and incumbents battled newly invigorated challenges.
It all came down to Election Day 2022.

Incumbent Shelley Mayer faced Republican challenger Frank Murtha in New York's 37th Senate District, which now includes Bronxville, Larchmont, Harrison, Mamaroneck, Port Chester, Rye Brook, Tuckahoe, Bedford, Eastchester, Harrison, North Castle, Mamaroneck, and Rye, Yonkers, White Plains, New Rochelle, and Rye, Katonah, Bedford Hills and Armonk.
