Oodles Of Noodle News: Ani Ramen House Opens In Larchmont On Tuesday

The first Westchester County outlet of the uber-popular ramen spot will finally open its doors on Palmer Avenue.

LARCHMONT, NY — If you still think of emergency dorm room sustenance in a styrofoam cup when you think of ramen, there's a new place in town that will likely change the way you think about ramen.

Ani Ramen House opens its first Westchester County location right here in Larchmont on Tuesday. Montclair Hospitality Group said that the ninth location of its popular ramen restaurant will be opening at 1943 Palmer Ave.

While the past few years have been a challenge for the restaurant industry, Ani Ramen managed to continue growing, with two New Jersey openings and a successful launch in Manhattan. Now, the brand is bringing its unique twist on ramen to Westchester County.

The company said choosing Larchmont for its first Hudson Valley location was not by chance.

"It has always been our goal to bring Ani Ramen to Westchester, and we’re especially excited to open our ninth restaurant here in Larchmont," Founding Partner Luck Sarabhayavanija said. "We look forward to being an active, involved member of the Larchmont community, as we have done at all of our locations."

In addition to further NYS expansion, Sarabhayavanija said a location is planned for spring in Tarrytown as well.

The new Larchmont location will be open for lunch and dinner daily, with dine in, to go and delivery options. Its signature craft ramen menu features custom-made noodles from Sun Noodle, a choice of meats and proteins and a few extras for guests to customize ramen bowls, including Ani's "umami bomb."

The menu has a few tempting appetizers for sharing, including bao buns, kurobuta sausage, chili-charred edamame and chicken karaage.

Ani Ramen's Larchmont location will also have a full bar with beer, wine, sake and craft cocktails made with a range of Japanese spirits.

Cocktails include Moshi Moshi (on draft: melon liqueur, gin, yuzu lemonade, soda), Shinyuu Sour (tequila, Thai basil, mandarin, jalapeno) and Samurai Old-Fashioned (Japanese whiskey, ginger, honey, bitters). For those who don't drink, there will also be signature non-alcoholic "mocktails" such as Kobe Refresher (oolong, lychee, ginger, lemon) or a Kyoto Grapefruit Fizz (white grapefruit, lemon, soda).

Ani Ramen's playful Japanese design was created by pixelexperience, echoing the stylized black and white murals hand-drawn for their very first location by Rich Tu. In the Larchmont location, the effect will be brighter, with flashes of Ani's trademark orange and Japanese "manga" comic book wallpaper in some areas.

The dining room will accommodate up to 70 guests. The bar at the entrance will seat 12. One wall of banquette seating will face the bustling, open kitchen, which will fill the room with the amazing aromas of Ani Ramen's legendary broths, according to the owners.

Ani Ramen House in Larchmont will be open for dinner on Tuesday. Regular hours with lunch service begin on Wednesday. Lunch is 11:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Dinner is served from 4 p.m. to 1o p.m. On weekends, the restaurant will stay open until 11 p.m.

Takeout will be available through the website and the new Ani Ramen House App soon.
