PhysicianOne Urgent Care Clinic Now Has 24-Hour Consulting
Patients can have a question answered at 2 a.m. and then receive follow-up testing or treatment in person at 8 a.m. at the clinic.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Getting a hold of a doctor after-hours can sometimes be a challenge, involving message services and less than helpful internet searches while waiting for a return phone call.
For a medical emergency, there are always the options of going to an ER or calling 9-1-1. PhysicianOne Urgent Care Clinic, however, is now offering an option for those times when it's not necessarily a crisis, but it sure would be helpful to speak with a medical professional.
In an effort to fill the gaps in health care accessibility, PhysicianOne said it will now offer 24/7 telehealth services to its patients.

The medical group said its on-demand telehealth program is different than other virtual healthcare offerings in that they can integrate virtual care with nearby in-person care. Patients can have a question answered at 2 a.m. by a provider, and then receive follow-up testing or care in-person at 8 a.m. at a local urgent care center, the organization said.
"The pandemic may have boosted the adoption of tele-health, but as we move into an endemic it is clear that tele-health is here to stay," PhysicianOne Urgent Care Regional Medical Director Dr. Brian Cruz told Patch. "I firmly believe that tele-health offers an alternative way to receive valuable medical care, particularly during 'off hours.' As the first urgent care in the Larchmont-Mamaroneck area to integrate 24/7 virtual care with in-person care, residents now have the option to connect with a PhysicianOne Urgent Care provider at any time online and connect with a local provider in-person at one of our area urgent care centers, allowing them to skip the ER for overnight health concerns."

Cruz added that the new service will not only bring flexibility to patients who need access to reliable health care from home, but will also allow the worn-down health system time to recover from the most recent COVID-19 surge.
Telemedicine appointments can be scheduled on a phone, tablet, or computer. Patients can choose to be seen either as soon as possible (usually within 15 minutes) or at a later specified time, whichever is more convenient.
During the virtual clinic visit, a qualified medical expert will ask about symptoms, recommend how to proceed with treatment and answer any questions. The clinic can also refill certain prescriptions and assess symptoms of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), if necessary. If the doctor determines that the patient requires in-person care for testing or follow-up treatment, it can be scheduled for the following morning at the urgent care facility.
Most insurance carriers, including Medicare and Medicaid, now cover virtual visits. PhysicianOne Urgent Care also accepts Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Spending Account (HSA) cards.
While telemedicine is appropriate in every situation, PhysicianOne Urgent Care said telemedicine can make getting treatment easier for a number of after-hours medical concerns, including:
- Colds
- Constipation
- Heartburn
- Influenza (the flu)
- Insect bites
- Migraines
- Minor burns and injuries
- Rashes
- Seasonal allergies
- Sinus infections
- Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
