Popular Westchester Beach Reopens, 2 LI Sound Beaches Remain Closed

After retesting, the health department said that just 2 beaches that had been closed preemptively after heavy rainfall will remain closed.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — As the Labor Day weekend approaches, most Westchester beaches have reopened, but two Long Island Sound beaches remain closed in Mamaroneck.

After retesting, Hudson Park West Beach in New Rochelle will be allowed to reopen by health officials.

However, the Westchester County Health Department said that two beaches that had been closed preemptively after recent heavy rainfall must remain closed to bathers.
