Rainy Weekend Forecast Will Delay Harbor Island Family Camp Out
The outdoor fun, games, movie, campfire and sleeping under the stars are postponed, but that means more time to sign up.

MAMARONECK, NY — Mother Nature has thwarted a long-planned good time on Harbor Island this weekend, but the predicted rotten weather could mean that even more families can join the fun for the rain date.
Due to the predicted rain in the weekend forecast, officials have postponed the annual Harbor Island Park Family Camp Out to the scheduled rain date of Sept. 14. The village has a no refund policy, so those no longer able to attend won't be getting a refund, but there is some good news for those with an opening on their calendar next weekend.
"Since the event has been rescheduled, we have decided to keep registration open," Village of Mamaroneck Recreation Leader Pamela DePiro said, breaking the bad news with a spoonful of sugar. "So, tell your family and friends that there is still time for them to join you on a fun-filled evening under the stars."

That fun-filled evening under the stars includes an outdoor movie, "Wonka," with s'mores over the fire, hot chocolate, cornhole, and other outdoor games.
A reminder email will be sent out next week to those already registered with all the information about the rescheduled Family Camp Out.
