Sound Shore Beach Closed Last Week Cleared To Reopen
Sandy fun in the sun is back on the agenda after the beach in Mamaroneck passed the latest tests from the health department.

MAMARONECK, NY — Beach days are back on tap on the Sound Shore, after heavy rains put a stop to swimming at some of the Long Island Sound's most popular beaches.
The Westchester County Health Department has reopened the Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club on Wednesday, after the latest water samples showed acceptable results within sanitary code standards.
The beach was one of nine Sound Shore beaches preemptively closed last week due to heavy rainfall, with Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club closed until today, awaiting further testing.
