Town Of Mamaroneck Declares Snow Emergency: Street Parking Banned
A Nor'easter is forecast to bring substantial snow to the region. Here's what you need to know about new rules in place for safety.

MAMARONECK, NY — The town has declared a snow emergency from 11 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.
Winter storm warnings have been issued for the lower Hudson Valley, though there is still a great deal of uncertainty about the complex weather system.
How far west this nor-easter will track as it heads up the East Coast is still unclear, and there is still uncertainty about the duration of moderate and heavy snow banding late tonight into Saturday, the National Weather Service said.

In anticipation of the storm, Town Supervisor, Jaine Elkind Eney has declared a snow emergency, effective 11 p.m.

This emergency order prohibits parking on snow emergency public highways, which are listed in the declaration of snow emergency. At this time, the snow emergency is in effect until 5 a.m. Monday morning, January 31, but officials said they will be monitoring the conditions and the order may be rescinded earlier.
Elkind Eney asked residents to stay off the roads to allow crews to clear the snow and ensure public safety.
During the Snow Emergency, parking is prohibited on the following roads in the Town of Mamaroneck:
- Avon Road
- Boston Post Road
- Finnimore Road
- Fifth Avenue
- Forrest Avenue
- Griffen Avenue
- Madison Avenue
- Murray Avenue
- Myrtle Boulevard
- North Chatsworth Avenue
- Old White Plains Road
- Palmer Avenue
- Richbell Road
- Rockingstone Avenue
- Rockland Avenue
- Weaver Street
