NASSAU COUNTY, NY — Election Day is Nov. 8. Republican John Mikulin is running practically unopposed to keep his seat representing the 17th Assembly District. Democrat Paul Kaminsky is on the ballot, but not actively campaigning.
The 17th Assembly District includes East Meadow, Levittown, Plainedge, Uniondale, South Farmingdale, Massapequa and North Massapequa.

I have a record of advocating for the people of the district.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
I will continue to address water quality and quality of life issues facing my constituents.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
During the past few years during the pandemic I have assisted my constituents with quality of life issues such as obtaining unemployment, I have advocated for changes to bail reform, and have continuously met with my constitutes one-on-one to assist them in their quality of life needs and have brought government directly to them.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Always be honest.
