MASSAPEQUA, NY. — Berner Middle School singers took their talents on the road Thursday, traveling to multiple elementary schools to sing holiday carols.
The singers were part of the audition-only vocal group “Vocal Points,” made up of seventh and eighth graders under the direction of music teacher Andrea Gropf. The group meets after school once per-week, district officials said, and visited Birch Lane, Fairfield, Lockhart and Unqua elementary schools. Included in their lineup were classics like, “It’s The Holiday Season,” “Hanukkah Dance” and “Silent Night.”
The performances concluded with the singers walking out into the crowd and sitting among the elementary students for a singalong.
