Crime Nearby: Restaurant Manger Punched, Inappropriate Relationship With Student
A look at recent crime in the Levittown area.

The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.
Bellmore
- On May 8, between 8:15 a.m. and 2:40 p.m., a vehicle's window was broken while it was parked on Bellmore Avenue.
- Sometime between 8 p.m. on May 9 and 8 a.m. on May 10, a vehicle's tires were slashed while parked on Davenport Place in North Bellmore.
- On May 11, at 12:25 a.m., Wayne Alcus, 44, of Copiague, was arrested at Antoinette's Restaurant on 2701 Merrick Road and charged with assault after he punched the manager.
East Meadow
- Items were removed from an unlocked vehicle that was parked on Sheila Court on May 8.
- On May 10, a vehicle parked on Front Street was keyed.
Levittown
- A GPS was stolen from a car on Bloomingdale Road on May 9.
- Jewelry was discovered stolen from a property on Crescent Lane on May 9.
- The glass of the front door at RadioShack on Hempstead Turnpike was found broken on May 12.
- A leaf blower was stolen from a car on Barrister Road on May 13.
- A car was stolen on Hilltop Road on May 14.
- A Levittown woman was arrested on May 16 and charged with having an inappropriate relationship with one of the disabled students she taught at the Henry Vicardi School in Albertson. For further details, click here.
Massapequa
- A man discovered money missing from his vehicle parked at the Massapequa Long Island Rail Road Station parking lot on May 5.
- An iPod was discovered removed from a vehicle parked on Ford Drive South on May 7.
- A burglar threw a piece of concrete through the front door of the Radio Shack on Carmans Road on May 11. For more details, click here.
- A GPS and clothing were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked at the Olive Garden Restaurant on 5598 Sunrise Highway on May 13.
Merrick
- Police were called to Camp Avenue School on May 13 after a student brought three ammunition shells in to show to friends, according to North Merrick Superintendent David Feller. For more details, click here.
- New York State Police identified on May 16 a man who was found dead in a wooded area on the west side of the Meadowbrook Parkway in Freeport near the Merrick border last week. For more details, click here.
Wantagh
- A vehicle on Willowood Drive in Wantagh was discovered spray-painted on May 6.
- A bike was removed from Surele Road in Wantagh on May 7. The bike was locked up when it was taken, according to police.
