Crimes Nearby, Pt. II: DWI With Kids in Car, Home Burglarized
A look at recent crime outside of Levittown.

The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.
Bellmore
- On April 24, between 2-5 a.m., a locked vehicle was broken into on Stewart Avenue in North Bellmore, and a bronze gear shifter was stolen.
- Nassau County Police released a sketch on April 29 of a “suspicious person” that’s sought in connection to the string of stranger incidents throughout the Bellmore-Merrick area in April. Click here to take a look.
- An increased police presence was reported at Saw Mill Road Elementary School on the morning of April 30 after a teacher's aide saw someone resembling the police sketch that cops released on Monday. Click this link for more.
- On April 27 at 2:10 a.m., Jessica Haas, 24, of Gilbert, AZ, was arrested at the intersection of Bellmore Avenue and Sunrise Highway and charged with seventh-degree criminal Possession of a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated and a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.
- A black 1998 Honda Civic was stolen off North Pine Street in North Massapequa in the early morning hours of April 24.
- On April 26 during the overnight hours, a printer and cash were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the driveway of North Queens Avenue.
- A Roosevelt man was arrested on April 29 and charged with burglarizing a home on Elizabeth Street and being in possession of crack cocaine. For more details, click here.
- Sometime between 11:30 p.m. on April 22 and 9:30 a.m. on April 23, unknown suspects shattered the rear window of a vehicle parked on Judith Drive. No loss was reported.
- A Merrick woman was arrested on April 27 after she was allegedly driving drunk on the Meadowbrook Parkway with her kids in the vehicle. For more details click here.
- One person was transported to a nearby hospital on April 27 after a fight broke out between a number of youths near the intersection of Merrick Avenue and Sunrise Highway. For more on this, click here.
- A catalytic converter was stolen from a 1998 Toyota SUV while it was parked at the Seaford Long Island Rail Road station parking lot on April 24.
- On April 27, Alexander Kozin, 23, of Seaford was arrested on Seamans Neck Road and charged with driving while intoxicated.
