Duo Attacked 2 Men Minutes Apart: Nassau Police

Police are searching for the two, who tried to rob two different men and attacked them both.

LEVITTOWN, NY — Nassau County police are searching for a pair of men who are wanted for two assaults and attempted robberies in Bethpage and Levittown on Wednesday morning.

According to police, at 9:30 a.m., the two men approached a 28-year-old man who was in his parked car in the lot at TD Bank, at 145 Stewart Ave. in Bethpage. The two asked to use the man's cell phone or cell phone charger, and he said no. One of the men then punched him in the face and tried to pull him out of his car. The man stayed in his car and was hit multiple times before the attackers fled on foot.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and evaluation, police said.

At 10:10 a.m., the same two men approached a 67-year-old man in the parking lot of Best Buy, at 3601 Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown. They asked him for some money, and he gave them cash. The two men then demanded more money. The man didn't give them any more, and police say the men punched him in the face and threw him to the ground, and then fled.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and evaluation, police said.

The first man is black, about 20 years old, with a medium build. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and red and black shoes. He was carrying a black and white backpack.

The second man is also black, about 20 years old, with a large build. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, light blue jeans and dark-colored sneakers.

Police ask anyone with information about these incidents to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
