GC Tech Key Club Officers Inducted in Ceremony

Story by Liz Sobel.

A new group of Gerald R. Claps Career and Technical Center Key Club officers were inducted at the Levittown Memorial Education Center as retiring officials prepare to graduate. The May 2013 induction ceremony took place in the school’s Panther Room, complete with an audience filled with Key Club members and proud parents.

With speeches from advisors Lillian Creedon, David Cummo and Ann Torcivia, the ceremony honored the club’s retiring officers and congratulated those newly inducted. In an especially heartfelt moment, retiring Key Club President Victoria Capone handed off an official Key Club sweatshirt to the newly inducted president, Bridget Glennon.

During the ceremony, retiring officers spoke warmly of their time in Key Club. Although retiring Treasurer Annelise Prendergast and retiring Vice President Brittany Bufinsky could not attend, Capone, Secretary Daniel Kuch, and Editor Anthony Mendes happily wished the new officers luck in their appointed roles.

The incoming GC-Tech Key Club officers include Bridget Glennon, who will serve as president, and Nicole Giacinto and Emilie D’Hedouville, the new co-vice presidents. Charmy Patel proudly accepted the role of Key Club secretary. The treasurer position went to Melissa Pierre, while Jasmine Tarnagorski stepped in as editor. Each new officer was inducted by Mrs. Creedon in front of a display that presented the club’s past accomplishments.
