The Island Trees Board of Education officially recognized several outstanding student-athletes at their June board meeting.
The girls softball team was first recognized for their county championship. Next year, the entire team with exception of one senior will be back and ready to defend their title.
The board then recognized Nassau County wrestling champion Tom Sinclair for his outstanding achievement in this sport. Sinclair won Nassau County's 220 lb. division and was Island Tress first county champion in 25 years.
