
The Island Trees JV football team finished the 2013 season in dominating fashion with a win over Malverne, 55-28. The Bulldogs totaled 585 yards of offense and reached the end zone eight times in the win.
Kenny Soto, Chris Williams, and Nick Blotta were impossible for Malverne’s defense to stop. Soto had 13 carries for 151 yards and three touchdowns, Williams carried the ball 11 times and rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns, and Blotta carried the ball eight times and rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown.

There was no reason to go to the air due to the potency and relentless run game, but freshman quarterback Timmy Madden was extremely calm and poised, leading the team up and down the field all day. According to coaches, Madden has excellent football sense and knowledge and has tremendous potential to be a phenomenal varsity quarterback.
The Bulldogs defense was swarming and played intense all game, led by leading tacklers Dom Stanco, Nick Blotta, Steve Mouzakes, and Jon Salvador. Mike Leone, Greg Anzalone, John Craine, and Sean Morris would also get in on the action defensively.

John Craine, Steve Mouzakes, and Mike Stephens would carry the ball down field on the final possession for the Bulldogs, and on the last play of the game Stephens scored on a 17-yard touchdown run.
With the win, the Bulldogs finish the season 4-4. Coach Tuorto and Coach Cataldo would like to thank the parents for all their help and support and the entire JV team for a successful, memorable, and fun season.
