Island Trees 7th graders got a taste of what life was like in the Civil War as the LI Volunteers Civil War Re-Enactors visited students and set up camp in the gym on Monday, June 3.
Students were able to witness first-hand what Army life was like for American soldiers almost 150 years ago and take part in a living history experience they will surely remember for years to come. The event was arranged by the Social Studies department.
"Thank you to Danielle Azar and Pam Siniscalchi for coordinating this great event for our 7th grade students," said Principal, Dr. Roger Bloom.
